My Own Home

← Back to the Portfolio

This project was by far the most fun I had in my career! We were in our early 40’s when we decided that we are tired of conforming to body corporate rules; that we needed some elbow room and a vegetable garden.

Because the apartment we were living in at the time contained us well, we decided to limit the house to also be 75m2. Because our priority was to have a garden, we did not want to spend a bigger portion of the 600m2 property on living space. We added a large garage with working space and in total have about 110m2 under roof. The house was designed to allow for future expansion, both laterally and vertically.

I took the role of Owner Builder on this project and registered as such at the NHBRC.
